How does the BeachCam work?: There are several components, camera, video pump computer and video web server. When you view the BeachCam Page, a control page is required to echo commands generated by changing the camera position. The control page is a frame located at the bottom of the page with "0" height to keep it invisible. The image is generated from a pc to pump out the video to the web server.. When you view the image and click on a "view button" a command is sent to the web server and then the command is re-routed to my local "video pump" PC and the local PC reformats the command and passes it along to the camera to change location. The commands to change the location, as mentioned above, are echoed to a control pager/ When I click on a button I get another window that has commands on it?: The Chateau BeachCam page is a frames page. More than likely, you've landed on one the pages that the frame calls for and not the main frames page. If you're viewing the BeachCam page and the URL for the page looks like "chateau-motel.com/cam/control_new.html" you should manually type in this web page address "chateau-motel.com/cam" . The preceding URL will be the index for the page and will show a blank '0" height frame at the bottom of the page that contains the return "echo" of the command that you issued. How many cameras are there?: Only one. The camera is a Pelco Spectra Dome, Pan Tilt & Zoom camera. When you click on a "view" button, a command is sent to the BeachCam video pump computer to tell it to change "preset locations." The pan tilt and zoom functions of the camera are connected to the video pump computer and the computer controls the movement of the camera to a new "preset location." Why does the camera change views on its' own?: It really isn't. Remember, as you're watching the cam someone else on the internet may be clicking buttons to change views also, you're just viewing the results of their actions. When I push a button, the cam goes somewhere else?: Most likely, the reason is the same as listed above? If you have questions you'd like to see added to this page, email me!
